In a significant step towards improving climate monitoring and enhancing agricultural planning, the IMC team, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and FAO-SWALIM, has successfully installed automatic weather stations in three key locations across Puntland—Eyl, Dhahar, and Baargaal.
These advanced weather stations are designed to provide real-time data on a variety of weather conditions, including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and rainfall. This data will be critical for improving drought monitoring, early warning systems, and supporting farmers and local communities in making informed decisions about water resource management and agricultural practices.
By providing accurate and timely weather information, these stations will play a vital role in strengthening resilience to climate change and enhancing disaster preparedness in the region. This initiative aligns with our ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable development and supporting local communities in building a more climate-resilient future.
At IMC, we believe that data-driven solutions are key to addressing some of the most pressing challenges faced by our region. We are proud to work alongside FAO-SWALIM and the Ministry of Agriculture in this effort and look forward to seeing the positive impact these weather stations will have on the livelihoods of many.
Stay tuned as we continue to update you on this and other climate resilience projects aimed at creating a sustainable future for Puntland!
